Wondering what customers are saying about your brand on the web? Perform this short audit to find out.

  1. Go to: http://socialmention.com enter your company name, product or brand. Give yourself 1 point for every positive comment by a customer. Maximum 10 points. Give yourself -5 points for every NEGATIVE comment by a customer. Maximum negative 30 points. If you have more than 10 positive comments, you can throw out two of the negative reviews (10 points credit).
  2. Go to http://www.google.com and enter your company name, product or brand and the word review. Drill down into the reviews. Give yourself 1 point for every positive review by a customer. Maximum 10 points. Give yourself - 5 points for every NEGATIVE review by a customer. Maximum -30 points. If you have more than 10 positive reviews, you can throw out two of the negative reviews (10 points credit).
  3. Login to Facebook. Assuming you have a fan page, review the conversations. Give yourself 1 point for each conversation your fan page moderator actively engaged in.

How to score your brand’s social media presence:

A = 40 to 50 points

B = 30 to 40 points

C = 20 to 30 points

D = 10 to 20 points

If you scored anything less than an B, there is plenty of room for improving your brand’s social media presence.
